Empty Yourself

As was prophetically demonstrated last night by carrying the wooden cross around the pillar after worship. Proclaiming the importance of taking up your cross and following Him daily. The Lord Jesus Christ left for His disciples, a perfect example by emptying Himself of all divinity and while He, “God in the flesh” became a man like us.

We must have a revelation and a clear understanding of the significance of the heavy war and victory Christ won in the Garden of Gethsemane. The root of all sin is rebellion, followed by bitterness and rejection caused by self-willpower. The origin of this rebellion was led by the angel Lucifer against God’s will which leads into his fall from the third heaven with one-third of the angels called today as demons. In the Garden of Eden, it was the fallen angel Lucifer, the Adversary known today as Satan who surrounded Adan and Eve and entwined them against God. Adam and Eve's rebellion against God's Word was a sinful act that resulted in their death. Their relationship with Almighty God, which was characterized by clear communication, was broken. Today, Satan is responsible for deceiving the nations of the world with the three-fold purpose of stealing, killing, and destroying (John 10:10). In the Garden of Gethsemane, the Lord Jesus Christ decided to empty Himself of His self-will and surrendered fully to obey the will of His Heavenly Father. Satan was defeated, and a significant victory was achieved. The power of sin was brought upon the human, who was freed from the dominion of self-will and experienced total freedom to do God's will. The word “Gethsemane” in the Hebrew language means “oil press”.

Rona Spiropoulos in her book “The Blood” wrote about Gethsemane.

“What can I tell you about Gethsemane? It is the place where the flesh is dealt with in a final blow. It is the meeting place where My will, the will of the Almighty EL SHADAI becomes the oil press that crushes until flesh gives way to the fullness of My will and purposes. Gethsemane, the mighty oil press comes down to the one that has already begun to break, that has faced storm after storm for Me, and then reaches out in a final struggle to receive strength to do all My will. The weight of purpose, together with struggle brings about the fulfilment of purpose. The struggle was so severe for My Son that the capillaries in His forehead began to break down through the intensity of the pressure of His emotions and His mental agony. The blood began to flow into His sweat glands and He began to perspire and the perspire appeared as drops of blood. His foreknowledge of the suffering that He would have to go through reached the point of climax where had to choose His will or Mine. As ELOHIM, His will was already with Mine. As Man, He had to suffer, so that He could overcome mankind could be released from every mental agony ever suffered.

The will is such a powerful force that has devoured nations and peoples. It had to be conquered and it has! At Gethsemane, Yeshua set His face as flint to do My will, even in His humanity He cried out to be released from that cup of suffering, His face was set as flint.

The struggle between spirit and flesh ensued and as I saw that it was so intense that He became weak I sent an angel to strengthen Him. He used this strength to empower His Spirit and not His flesh. He could have taken this angelic strength as so many have and used it to strengthen Himself and stand up against Me and say, “No!” Come up with another plan. But, He took that strength and prayed even harder for My will to be done and in doing so He opened a portal of grace and power that had been closed to mankind since the fall. Gethsemane is the reason that you can turn away from your desires and set your face as flint to follow Me. Gethsemane in the reason that your breakthrough is only a veil, ( call His name YHVH) a membrane away and not a shut door that you have to break down. My Son did and He had His eyes on your face as He fought this battle. In this omnipotence and omnipresence the faces of the Sons of Glory. Prepared before Him and as He saw you, His heart melted, His will broke and He surrendered to His purpose. The last frontier, the final conquest, the most outlying territory can only be captured because of His love. The breaking of a will has a sound to it. In the spirit realm, it has the sound of a sled into surrender, the spirit of the person is released from an area of captivity - it is a sound of victory, a sound of triumph because no one has entered into the rhythms and timings of Heaven and has discovered their true purpose”.

There is no other way except the way of the cross. Just like Jesus emptied Himself and surrendered His will to the will of the Heavenly Faith and will the ultimate victory over Satan. We do likewise empty ourselves and surrender all our will and walk in obedience to God’s will before we can win the victory over Satan and be overcome. Let’s not deceive ourselves by thinking that we can avoid total surrender and everlasting commitment and have Christ dwelling within us as the hope of glory. The gate is narrow and the road is not easy so it leads to life. This victory cost Christ everything and He didn’t hold back anything.

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne” Hebrews 12:1-2

Nowadays, most Christians emphasize the importance of prosperity, blessings, privileges, and the manifestation of power. Although these are beneficial for our spiritual growth, it is important to remember that Jesus Christ commanded His disciples to be willing to give up everything, take up their cross, and follow Him (Luke 14:33, Matthew 10:38, 16:24-27).

Obeying God's will is necessary to follow Christ's path, so we must always be willing to sacrifice ourselves and our lives for Christ and the Gospel of His Kingdom. To do God's will, we should be willing to ignore, disown, and lose all signs of our interests, desires, and activities that interfere with the flow and movement of the Holy Spirit. It is necessary to pray and obey the Lord's Prayer, which states that 'Not my will, but Your will be done', daily. Matthew 6:9-15
